He works from a personal encounter with Jesus first, then draws on the scholarship of respected Jewish and Christian scholars — because the church was Jewish before it was anything else, and those roots change everything about how you read Scripture.

Footnotes

The command לְטַמֵּא (*letamme'a*, to defile/make ritually impure) the House is the ultimate inversion of the Temple's purpose. The courts consecrated for the blood of atoning sacrifice are now to be filled with the blood of judgment. The very space designed to make Israel holy is surrendered to defilement — not by pagan invaders, but by divine decree, because Israel had already defiled it spiritually through the abominations of Ezekiel 8. The physical desecration merely externalises a spiritual reality already present. YHWH does not defend a house that has already abandoned Him.
