He works from a personal encounter with Jesus first, then draws on the scholarship of respected Jewish and Christian scholars — because the church was Jewish before it was anything else, and those roots change everything about how you read Scripture.

Footnotes

The small remnant tucked into the robe (v. 3) is not ultimately safe—even from the preserved few, some are cast back into fire (v. 4). The phrase 'from it fire will go out into all the house of Yisra'el' expands the judgment beyond besieged Yerushalayim to encompass the exiles in Babylon and all remaining covenant people. The sign-act thus covers the whole nation, not merely the city on the tile. The remnant theme here anticipates but does not guarantee final restoration—it is a remnant under continued divine pressure.
