The *ta'im* (ΧͺΦΈΦΌΧΦ΄ΧΧ, singular *ta*) were flanking guardrooms built into the gateway passage on either sideβa design archaeologically confirmed in Solomonic-era gates at Megiddo, Hazor, and Gezer (the classic 'six-chambered gate' of the 10th century BCE). Their deliberate, unvarying symmetry is itself theological: YHWH's dwelling is ordered, not improvised. Every dimension reflects intention. FOG uses 'alcove' to convey the built-in, recessed quality; FOG Message uses 'guard room' for architectural immediacy.
