Three sacrificial categories are named here: *olah* (עוֹלָה, burnt/ascent offering—total consecration to YHWH, the whole animal given), *chatat* (חַטָּאת, sin/purification offering—moral and ritual defilement cleansed), and *asham* (אָשָׁם, guilt/reparation offering—specific wrongs repaired with restitution). Together they cover the full spectrum of Israel's covenantal life: devotion, purity, and justice. Their placement at the gateway, before the altar, insists that access to YHWH cannot be separated from atonement. FOG and FOG Message both preserve the three technical categories; FOG Message adds 'four in all' to make the arithmetic of v.39 explicit before v.40–41 add four more.
