The bared arm (זְרֹעֲךָ חֲשׂוּפָה, *zero'acha chasufah*) is a warrior's gesture — the forearm unsheathed for combat, sleeve rolled back for the strike. This is the same image applied to YHWH's own 'bared arm' in Isa. 52:10, where it signals saving power before the nations. Here the prophet's exposed arm mirrors the arm of YHWH raised in judgment against His own city — a terrible inversion of the Exodus imagery. FOG renders it as 'laid bare' preserving the physical gesture; FOG Message draws out its theological freight as 'the arm of judgment.'
