The word *niddah* (נִדָּה) is a specific priestly term for menstrual impurity—the most intimate and regular form of ritual uncleanness in Torah law (Lev. 15:19–30). Ezekiel's use of this viscerally domestic image is theologically precise: Israel's covenant unfaithfulness rendered the holy land perpetually, inherently impure—not accidentally so. The analogy is shocking by design. FOG preserves the Hebrew term *niddah* to honour its specificity and priestly resonance; FOG Message renders it descriptively to convey the same shock in plain speech.
