The reappointment here mirrors Ezek. 3:17 almost word for word, forming a deliberate literary bracket. Chapter 33 marks the structural hinge of the entire book: the fall of Yerushalayim (v. 21) closes the era of warning and opens the era of restoration. The watchman commission is thus renewed for a transformed ministry — pastoral consolation rather than judicial alarm. FOG retains "Yisra'el"; FOG Message uses "Israel."
