The Hebrew renders the reed-staff failure with visceral mechanical precision. *Bekhaf* (ΧΦ·ΧΦ·ΦΌΧ£, "in the palm") locates the grip in the hand; *terotsats* (ΧͺΦ΅ΦΌΧ¨ΦΈΧ¦Φ΅Χ₯, Niphal of Χ¨Χ¦Χ₯) means "you shattered/splintered"; *uvaqa'ta* (ΧΦΌΧΦΈΧ§Φ·Χ’Φ°ΧͺΦΈΦΌ) means "you split/gashed" β driving sharp splinters into the gripping hand and up into the shoulder. Then when leaned upon, the reed snaps completely, leaving *motnayim* (ΧΦΈΧͺΦ°Χ Φ·ΧΦ΄Χ, loins/hips) β the body's load-bearing centre β buckling and useless. This is not metaphor held at arm's length; it is precisely observed structural failure rendered as political treachery. Mitzrayim did not merely fail Yisra'el β it actively wounded the ally who trusted it. FOG preserves the physical shock sequence; FOG Message draws out the collapse with "buckling."
