The command "open your mouth and eat" (*petzeh ficha ve'echol*, פְּצֵה פִיךָ וֶאֱכֹל) introduces a visceral embodied metaphor for receiving divine revelation: the prophet must *ingest* the word, making it part of his own body before he can ever speak it. This anticipates the scroll-eating of Ezekiel 3 and echoes Jeremiah 15:16 ("Your words were found, and I ate them; they became my joy"). The ingestion motif insists that prophetic speech is not mere transmission but transformation — the word must pass through the prophet's whole being. The warning against becoming *meri* (מֶרִי, "rebellious") while being sent to the *beit ha-meri* ("house of rebellion") is sharp: the prophet himself is not immune to the same spiritual disease he is sent to diagnose. Both FOG and FOG Message render this literally, preserving the visceral physicality of the call.
