A scroll written on both sides (*panim ve-achor*, פָּנִים וְאָחֹור) was abnormal: scrolls were typically inscribed on one face only. The overflow signals that the word of coming judgment is so complete and all-encompassing that no ordinary vessel can contain it — there is no blank space left for revision, appeal, or escape. The three inscribed terms form a descending spiral of grief: *qinim* (קִינִים) are formal funeral dirges (the same word-root as Lamentations/*Eikhah*); *hegeh* (הֶגֶה) is a low, private moan or murmuring; *hi* (הִי) is a raw, involuntary cry of anguish — "alas!" This is the diet Ezekiel must eat before he speaks. FOG preserves the Hebrew trio *qinim, hegeh, hi* to honour their tonal and liturgical weight; FOG Message renders "laments, mourning, and woe" to make the grief's full register felt.
