Ezekiel's definition of Sodom's guilt is primarily socioeconomic and moral — not principally sexual. Ge'on (pride), sova lechem (fullness of bread), and shalvat hashket (prosperous/careless ease) are paired with the failure to strengthen the poor (dal v'evyon). This verse is critical for a fully biblical theology of Sodom, which is too often reduced to one category of sin alone. The sexual dimension appears in v.50 ('abomination'), but here the foundation is injustice rooted in self-sufficiency. FOG Message's 'complacently at ease' renders shalvat hashket with its full sense of self-satisfied indolence.
