Mekurotayich umolodotayich — 'your origins and your births' — a double noun phrase emphasising the totality of Jerusalem's genealogical shame. The Amorites and Hittites were pre-Israelite peoples associated with Canaan's moral corruption (cf. Gen. 10; Josh. 1). This is a deliberate prophetic insult: Jerusalem has no noble pedigree to stand on. FOG uses transliterated ethnic names to honour their historical specificity; FOG Message uses the familiar English forms.
