שָׁלוֹם (*shalom*) is not merely the absence of conflict but total covenantal flourishing — the rightness of every relationship between God, humanity, and creation. The prophets cry *shalom* over a reality that is fundamentally broken and under judgment. טָפֵל (*tafel*) literally means "insipid, tasteless, worthless" — the plaster is as hollow as the message it illustrates. The wall (חַיִץ, *ḥayitz*, a dividing or partition wall, likely poorly built) receives cosmetic treatment instead of structural reconstruction. FOG preserves *shalom* untranslated to guard its full semantic weight; FOG Message renders "Peace!" with rhetorical force to capture the public performative cry of the false prophet.
