Moses brought all of this word to the Israelites, but they could not receive it. Their spirits had been ground down to nothing, and the brutality of their labor had left no room for hope.
Moshe reported all this to the sons of Yisra'el — but they could not hear him. Their spirits had been crushed too short, and their bondage was too brutal.
And Moses spake so unto the children of Israel: but they hearkened not unto Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage.
Moses relayed this message to the Israelites, but on account of their broken spirit and cruel bondage, they did not listen to him.
