The term תְּנוּפָה (tenufah) designates a "wave offering" or "elevation offering"—a ritual gesture in which the worshipper or priest lifts the gift toward YHWH before presenting it. Describing the donated gold as tenufah elevates the inventory beyond a building ledger into a liturgical record of worship. The sanctuary's entire material wealth is thereby framed not as a construction fund but as an accumulated act of devotion, presented before YHWH Himself. Both versions render it "wave offering," preserving this sacrificial framing for the accounting that follows.
