The menorah (מְנוֹרָה) was made as miqshah (מִקְשָׁה), a single hammered form with no joints or seams — an extraordinary feat of goldsmithing. Its decorative motif was sheqedim (שְׁקֵדִים, almond blossoms), sharing the root with shaqed (שָׁקֵד, almond tree), itself a wordplay on shoqed (שׁוֹקֵד, watching/wakeful) — the image YHWH uses in Jeremiah 1:11–12 to declare He is watching over His word to perform it. The menorah's almond ornamentation thus whispers of divine vigilance within the very light of the Sanctuary.
