פָּרֹכֶת (parokhet) is the innermost veil separating the Holy of Holies from the outer Holy Place—the very boundary of Elohim's most immediate Presence. Its etymology is uncertain (possibly from a root meaning "to separate" or "to screen"), but its function is unambiguous: it marks the threshold that no mortal might cross, barring all but the High Priest on Yom Kippur. Typologically, this is the curtain torn from top to bottom at the moment of Yeshua's death (Matt. 27:51; Mark 15:38; Luke 23:45), an act the New Covenant writers understood as the tearing open of direct access to the Presence once held closed. The F.O.G preserves the Hebrew term "Parokhet" to keep this full semantic and typological weight intact, while the F.O.G Message renders it "inner veil," distinguishing it clearly from the outer masakh screen of vv. 37–38.
