They've wasted no time turning off the path I commanded them to walk. They made a golden calf, bowed down to it, sacrificed to it, and announced, 'These are your gods, Israel—the ones who brought you out of Egypt!'"
They have turned aside quickly from the way I commanded them. They have made for themselves a cast calf, bowed down to it, sacrificed to it, and cried out, 'These are your elohim, Yisra'el, who brought you up from the land of Mitzrayim!'"
