Footnotes
Four materials define these curtains. Tekhelet is a costly blue-violet dye extracted from the murex snail; argaman is purple; tola'at shani is crimson from a scale insect (literally "worm-scarlet"). Ma'aseh khoshev ("the work of a designer/thinker") denotes a complex loom technique producing a pattern visible from both sides — a tapestry, not mere embroidery — distinguishing it from the entrance screen's rokem work (v.36). Both versions preserve this craft distinction.
