In every case involving a breach of trust—ox, donkey, sheep, cloak, or any lost item—where one party claims, "This is it," both parties shall bring their dispute before God; and the one God declares guilty must repay his neighbor double.
In every case of breach of trust—whether over an ox, a donkey, a sheep, a cloak, or any lost item—where someone says, "This is mine," the case of both parties shall come before Elohim; and the one whom Elohim declares guilty shall pay double to his neighbour.
For all manner of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing, which another challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whom the judges shall condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbour.
In all cases of illegal possession of an ox, a donkey, a sheep, a garment, or any lost item that someone claims, ‘This is mine,’ both parties shall bring their cases before the judges. The one whom the judges find guilty must pay back double to his neighbor.
