כַּחֲצֹת הַלַּיְלָה (kachatzot halailah) — the prefix כ signals approximation: "around/about midnight," not at a precise hour. The F.O.G preserves this uncertainty; the F.O.G Message renders it with dramatic weight appropriate to the momentous occasion. אֲנִי יֹוצֵא (ani yotzeh) — the pronoun אֲנִי is emphatic: "I Myself am going out." This is not delegated judgment through an intermediary; Yahweh acts in His own Person.
