ὀργίζεσθε καὶ μὴ ἁμαρτάνετε is a quotation from Psalm 4:4 (LXX). The imperative ὀργίζεσθε can be read as permissive/concessive ("even when angry, do not sin") or as a genuine command with a qualifier ("be angry — but do not sin in it"). The F.O.G preserves the command-form to honour the Psalm's bold address; the F.O.G Message renders it as a conditional principle. παροργισμός (parorgismos) — "provocation/exasperation" — intensifies ὀργή: it is anger brought to full boil by a specific provocation, the seething resentment that festers if left to simmer overnight.
