ἀπαλγέω (apalgeo) — "to cease to feel pain / to be past feeling" — is a hapax legomenon, occurring only here in the NT. It describes moral anaesthesia: the faculty of moral pain has been so repeatedly deadened that feeling is entirely lost. The progression from v18's πώρωσις (hardening/callus) to ἀπαλγέω (numbness) is clinically precise — first the callus forms, then all sensation is gone. The F.O.G "having lost all sensation" preserves the physical-neurological register of the Greek; the F.O.G Message "sensitivity" draws out the moral and relational dimension.
