κυβεία (kubeia) — literally "dice-playing" — is a gambling term loaded with connotations of cheating. Ancient dice games were notorious for loaded dice and trickery; κυβεία connotes the crooked gambler's art applied to doctrine: theological fraudsters running a rigged game. The F.O.G retains "dice-play" to honour the visceral Greek image of manipulated outcomes; the F.O.G Message renders it "cunning" for contemporary accessibility, though the gambler's sleight is lost in translation.
