ἀποκαταλλάξῃ intensifies καταλλάσσω (reconcile) with the prefix ἀπο-, suggesting a complete, restoring reconciliation; F.O.G renders "fully reconcile" to honour this prefix, while F.O.G Message trusts the imagery to carry the finality. The versions also diverge on σταυρός: its primary meaning is "stake" or "upright post," which F.O.G preserves, while F.O.G Message renders "cross" honouring its established theological weight. The concluding ἐν αὐτῷ is additionally ambiguous — F.O.G reads "in Himself" (Christ as the locus where the hostility was slain), while F.O.G Message reads "through it" (the cross as instrument), both grammatically defensible.
