Both מְצוֹדָה רָעָה ("cruel/evil net") and עֵת רָעָה ("evil/cruel hour") use the adjective רַע (ra', "evil/bad/cruel") that threads through the chapter in vv. 2, 3, and 11. The repetition is deliberate — the evil filling human hearts, the evil fate, and this evil hour are lexically bound together, weaving a web of inescapable darkness across the whole chapter.
