לְרַע לוֹ ("to his harm/evil") is grammatically ambiguous in its referent: does the harm fall on the dominated or the dominator? F.O.G renders it as harm falling on the one who is oppressed; F.O.G Message's "to his own destruction" suggests the oppressor ultimately ruins himself — both readings are linguistically valid and together bracket the full moral catastrophe of power abused.
