Translations
No one commands the wind to cage it — and no one commands the day of their death. There is no discharge from this war, and wickedness will not deliver its master.
No one has mastery over the wind to hold back the wind — there is no mastery over the day of death. There is no discharge from this battle, and wickedness will not rescue those who practise it.
There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.
As no man has power over the wind to contain it, so no one has authority over his day of death. As no one can be discharged in wartime, so wickedness will not release those who practice it.
