This verse contains a significant textual variant: וְיִשְׁתַּכְּחוּ (MT) = "and they were forgotten," while the LXX and several manuscripts read שֻׁבְּחוּ = "they were praised" (שבח vs שכח). F.O.G follows the MT ("forgotten"), which closes the irony quietly; F.O.G Message adds "with honours" to capture the sharper irony of wicked men given a respectable burial after frequenting the temple — the two versions thus triangulate both textual traditions.
