There was a man all alone—no companion, no son or brother—and there was no end to all his labor, yet his eyes were never satisfied with wealth. "For whom am I working, and why am I denying myself every good thing?" This too is vapor—a miserable business!
There is a man alone—no second beside him, neither son nor brother—yet there is no end to all his toil, and his eyes are never satisfied with riches. "For whom am I toiling and depriving my very being of good?" This too is vapour—and a wretched business.
