Then I turned to survey everything my hands had accomplished and all the toil I had exerted—and behold, it was all vapor and a striving after wind. There was no lasting gain to be found under the sun.
Then I turned and surveyed all the works my hands had done and the toil I had laboured to accomplish—and look, all of it was vapour and a chasing after wind. There was no profit under the sun.
Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.
Yet when I considered all the works that my hands had accomplished and what I had toiled to achieve, I found everything to be futile, a pursuit of the wind; there was nothing to be gained under the sun.
