Translations
when heights become terrifying and the road is filled with dread, when the almond tree blooms white, the grasshopper labours along, and the caper berry loses its power — for man walks to his eternal home while the mourners make their rounds in the streets.
when they fear heights and terrors lurk on the road, the almond blossoms white, the locust drags itself along, the caper berry fails — for the man walks to his eternal house while mourners pace the streets.
Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:
when men fear the heights and dangers of the road, when the almond tree blossoms, the grasshopper loses its spring, and the caper berry shrivels—for then man goes to his eternal home and mourners walk the streets.
