שַׁלַּח לַחְמְךָ (shallach lachmekha) — "send/cast your bread." The idiom almost certainly refers to maritime trade in its ancient Near Eastern setting: releasing goods by ship into commercial uncertainty with the expectation of eventual return. The F.O.G preserves "cast" for its visceral physical sense; the F.O.G Message uses "send" to foreground the deliberate act of release. Both resist the flattened reading of mere almsgiving, though generosity remains a valid secondary resonance.
