*Aseret haddevarim* (עֲשֶׂרֶת הַדְּבָרִים) is literally 'the ten words' or 'ten utterances'—*devarim*, not *mitzvot* ('commandments'). The Greek *Decalogue* preserves this: *deka logoi*, 'ten words.' The designation frames the Sinai covenant as a speech-act of YHWH—an utterance that creates covenantal reality. FOG retains 'Ten Words' to honour this; FOG Message uses the traditional English 'Ten Commandments,' while the surrounding covenant context makes clear they are not merely legal imperatives but the living voice of the Sovereign.
