It is Jean Paul's lifelong work, unfolding in public — and you're invited in.

He works from a personal encounter with Jesus first, then draws on the scholarship of respected Jewish and Christian scholars — because the church was Jewish before it was anything else, and those roots change everything about how you read Scripture.

שְּׁמִטָּה (*shemittah*, from שָׁמַט *shamat* — to release, let drop) is the sabbatical year of debt release and land rest (cf. Deut. 15:1–2; Lev. 25). Sukkot (סֻּכּוֹת, 'Booths') was the great harvest pilgrimage festival, when all Israel — including strangers and the landless — gathered before YHWH. The choice of Sukkot is fitting: it commemorates the wilderness sojourn, and the public reading of Torah in that season echoes Moshe's own wilderness address throughout Deuteronomy. FOG retains *Shemittah* and *Sukkot* as culturally irreplaceable terms; FOG Message renders them accessibly as 'year of release' and 'Festival of Booths.'
