Watch yourself carefully — do not let a wicked thought take hold of your heart, whispering, 'The seventh year of release is almost here,' so that your eye looks grudgingly on your poor brother and you give him nothing. For he will cry out to Yahweh against you, and you will bear the guilt of sin.
Guard yourself lest a belial-thought take root in your lev, so that you say, 'The seventh year — the year of shemittah — is near,' and your eye turns evil toward your poor brother, so you give him nothing. For he will cry out to YHWH against you, and sin will be upon you.
Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him nought; and he cry unto the LORD against thee, and it be sin unto thee.
Be careful not to harbor this wicked thought in your heart: “The seventh year, the year of release, is near,” so that you look upon your poor brother begrudgingly and give him nothing. He will cry out to the LORD against you, and you will be guilty of sin.
