The commissioners and satraps hunted for some charge to bring against Daniel in his official duties — but they found nothing. He was utterly faithful, and not a trace of negligence or corruption could be discovered in him.
Then the commissioners and satraps sought to find a pretext against Daniyyel in the conduct of the kingdom; but they could find no pretext or corruption, for he was faithful — and neither error nor corruption was found in him.
Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.
Finally these men said, “We will never find any charge against this Daniel unless we find something against him concerning the law of his God.”
