The satraps, prefects, governors, and royal counselors all crowded around to see for themselves: the fire had exerted no power whatsoever over these men. Not a single hair was singed, their garments were untouched, and there was not even the faintest trace of smoke on them.
And the satraps, the prefects, the governors, and the king's counsellors gathered round and saw that the fire had no power over those men. Not a hair of their heads had been singed, their cloaks were undamaged, and not even the smell of fire had come upon them.
And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.
and when the satraps, prefects, governors, and royal advisers had gathered around, they saw that the fire had no effect on the bodies of these men. Not a hair of their heads was singed, their robes were unaffected, and there was no smell of fire on them.
