לִצְרוֹף...וּלְבָרֵר...וְלַלְבֵּן (litzrof...ulevarer...velaLaben) — a purposeful triad of refining verbs: "to smelt" (metallurgical/fire), "to winnow/sift" (agricultural/wind), "to bleach/whiten" (textile/water). Together they form a comprehensive purification image across all three elements, echoing Malachi 3:2–3's refining of the Levitical priesthood. The stumbling of the wise is not random suffering but divinely purposed refinement.
