אַחֲרִית הַיָּמִים (acharit ha-yamim) — "the latter days" or "the end of days." This phrase in Hebrew prophecy spans a wide range: from the near prophetic future to the Messianic age to the final eschaton (Gen 49:1; Num 24:14; Isa 2:2; Mic 4:1). FOG renders "the latter days" to preserve the temporal breadth and ambiguity; FOG Message renders "the end of days" to draw out the eschatological horizon that Daniel's subsequent visions will fill in.
