נְקֻבֵי רֵאשִׁית הַגּוֹיִם uses נָקַב, meaning to pierce or designate by name — these are the "named" elite, marked out by rank. The F.O.G "marked men" preserves that sense of deliberate designation; the F.O.G Message "prominent men" draws out the social reality: these are the people the nation defers to, which makes the indictment land harder. הוֹי (hoy) is a raw funeral cry; the F.O.G retains its Hebrew sound to preserve that mortuary weight.
