The "Beautiful Gate" (Hē Horaia Pylē) is most likely the Nicanor Gate — the magnificent double-leaved bronze gate described in the Mishnah (Middot 2:3) as surpassing all other temple gates in splendour, set between the Court of the Gentiles and the Court of Women. The phrase "from his mother's womb" (ek koilias mētros) underlines the condition's congenital and humanly incurable nature — no physician, no ritual bath, no Torah observance could remedy what only the Creator could restore.
