"episkopēn" (ἐπισκοπήν): From Psalm 109:8 — the word means "oversight, position, or charge." It is the same root as episkopos (bishop/overseer), but here denotes a general appointed office. F.O.G.M uses "office" to avoid anachronistic ecclesiastical hierarchy; FOG uses "place of oversight" to preserve the word's administrative sense while allowing the reader to hear its later ecclesiological resonance.
