The phrase *ke-libbeka* ('according to Your heart') is arresting — it roots the Davidic covenant not in David's merit or petition but in God's own inner desire and delight. This foreshadows the New Covenant language of Jeremiah 31, where YHWH acts from His own heart to write Torah within His people. The initiative is entirely divine; David can only receive and respond. FOG retains 'according to Your own heart'; FOG Message's 'in keeping with' softens the anthropomorphism slightly while preserving its covenantal force.
