The *isha chakkamah* ('wise woman') was a recognised social role in ancient Israel—not merely intelligent, but a community mediator, arbitrator, and voice of collective wisdom (cf. the wise woman of Tekoa, 2 Sam. 14:2). Her doubled cry *shim'u shim'u* ('Hear! Hear!') is a rhetorical device demanding immediate attention amid military noise—a woman commanding an army to stop. FOG renders the Hebrew cry directly to preserve its urgent rhythm; FOG Message translates it as "Listen! Listen!" for natural English flow.
