The first proverb cites Proverbs 26:11 (LXX) directly — the only explicit scripture citation in the chapter, lending its verdict the full weight of Torah wisdom. The second proverb has no OT source and is likely a common saying; together they form a dual witness (cf. Deuteronomy 19:15), sealing the indictment. In Jewish contexts both dogs and pigs are unclean animals — their return to filth is a return to ritual and moral uncleanness. Kefa does not soften the imagery; the deliberate crudeness of the metaphor is the point.
