*Neshef* — the ambiguous half-light of dusk or pre-dawn (the same word is used in v. 7 for the Arameans' flight). The choice of twilight by both the lepers and the fleeing army in the same chapter creates a subtle irony: one group moves toward what the other has abandoned at the very same threshold of darkness. FOG and FOG Message both render it as twilight/dusk, though the narrative's use of the same word twice is worth noting.
