*Metzora'im* — those afflicted with *tzara'at*, a ritual impurity of the skin (Lev. 13–14). Commonly rendered 'lepers,' but *tzara'at* is broader than Hansen's disease and carries ritual as well as medical significance. These men were excluded from the city by law and now excluded from survival by famine — doubly marginalised. That YHWH's deliverance would first be witnessed and announced by them is narratively loaded. FOG retains *tzara'at* to signal the ritual-social dimension; FOG Message uses 'skin disease' to avoid the misleading 'leprosy' while keeping the human vulnerability visible.
