He works from a personal encounter with Jesus first, then draws on the scholarship of respected Jewish and Christian scholars — because the church was Jewish before it was anything else, and those roots change everything about how you read Scripture.

*Vayiqtzof* (וַיִּקְצֹף): 'he was furious/enraged' — a strong emotional verb. Na'aman's wounded pride is fully exposed: a great man expecting great ceremony received instead a secondhand message about a muddy river. His expectation of a dramatic hand-wave (*henif yado*) reflects prophetic healing gestures known from ANE ritual contexts. FOG retains 'metzora' to echo v.1, closing the bracket around his condition; FOG Message uses 'diseased spot' to specify the focus of the expected gesture.
