The Hebrew *gedolah* (גְּדוֹלָה) — 'great' — describes this woman: a term applied elsewhere to kings, commanders, and persons of high standing (cf. 2 Sam. 3:38; 1 Kings 3:12). She is not simply 'rich' but a woman of social weight and self-possessed initiative. The verb *vatachazek-bo* (וַתַּחֲזֶק-בוֹ) — 'she seized hold of him' — implies firm, physical insistence. FOG renders 'prominent'; FOG Message adds 'wealthy and prominent' to capture both social and economic weight.
